It is the heart of the old Yugoslav federation and also includes, besides Serbia, the two autonomous areas of Vojovodina to North and of Kosovo to south-west.
It has a population of about 10 millions of inhabitants with Albanian strong minority in the Kosovo.
After the secession of the other federate Republics and the ethnic religious wars with Croatia and Bosnia and after the repressive and bloody dictatorship of Milosevic, Serbia was readmitted to the ONU and it was revoke the economic sanctions, but the return to the democracy and the wealth is difficult and conflicts in Kosovo continue.
The territory does not have big attractions, but the mountains of the Kosovo and small town of Prizren have a particular and sour glamour.
