At present it is a monarchy, but to the king's death the charge of chief of state will become elective. It is a nation constituted by the western section of the archipelago of Samoas (the eastern part belongs at USA), constituted by Savaii and Upolu islands and by other smaller islands of Manono and Apolima. They are separated by other insular groups (nearest groups are the Tonga islands distant about 800 kilometers) and are very difficult to reach from every region of the World: that gives back it authentic, besides beautiful with their volcanic reliefs, the thick forests and the coral reefs. The most interesting island is Upolu, where the capital Apia is placed; the island is fringed by a almost continuos reef and has beautifull beaches like Return to Paradise and Matareva Beach. Savaii is the biggest one; separated from Upolu by Apolima Strait (one hour and half by ferry) is still wild, ruled by the volcanic big cone of the mountain Silisili (mt 1844) and by fifty of secondary cones. The most idyllic island is Manono, inside the Upolu's Reef, cover by amazing tropical vegetation and surround by marvellous beaches.
