Great Asian country (over 5 times wider than Italy), inclusive among the two colossuses of Russia and China. The territory is constituted to a large extent from the boundless expanse desert of the Gobi and from a series of steppe plateaus to north. The climate is very accented continental, with extreme thermal both annual and daily excursions and always with very scarce rains. This geographical and climatic situation, to which must be added during recent years a faithful rigid regime to the laws in Moscow (at least up to the 1990 first free elections), has determined for a long time a scarce population, with a density of as soon as 1,5 abs / Kmq, among the lowest of the whole planet. However the great spaces, the desert and the isolation of the nation and its people set it as a fascinating destination from a certain point of view. In fact landscapes are everywhere fantastic and the primordial nature, thousands of free animals, typical white ghers, nonexistence of stressing modern activities, make Mongolia a really attractive area.
