This nation takes the name of one of the three great geographical divisions of the Oceania (Micronesia, Melanesia and Polinesia), occupying only the central part of it. It is primarily constituted by the Islands Caroline, that in various groups are formed from hundreds of small islands and corallites atolls to northeast of the New Guinea, for a total surface of few more than 700 Kmqs. The inhabitants are skilled navigators, that often use of very precise nautical papers realized with canes woven according to the routs, with the various islands pointed out with shells.
