It is the most Southern of the states which were born by the dismemberment of the ex Yugoslavia; it is in prevalence mountainous, with very rigid climate in winter and heat in summer. It is a state without great attractions, nevertheless the capital Skopje, where ¼ of the whole Macedonian population almost resides, it is a beautiful city. Among the population there is a strong Albanian minority, to which lately a conspicuous immigration is added by the Kosovo.
