It is a state constituted from an archipelago of the Melanesia to east of the New Guinea, with an a total surface little greater than Sicily and with few more than 400 thousand inhabitants (density of around 15 abs / Kmq). The capital Honiara is situated on the great island of Guadalcanal, famous for a bloody battle among Americans and Japanese during the second world war. It primarily produce walnut-trees of coconut, from which it obtains copra, cocoa and lumber.
