It is a small state of equatorial western Africa on the Gulf of Guinea (a little greater than Sicily), constituted by a continental part (Mbini) and by some islands, of which the greatest is Bioko (ex Ferdinando Poo), where the capital Malabo is set.
The government of the nation is dictatorial since the independence from the Spaniards in 1968. The country is poor, but among its agricultural productions it exports cocoa, coffee and bananas, as well as appreciated woods as rosewood and ebony.
