Situated archipelago in the ocean Pacific, more or less to half road between China and the Borneo, constituted by 11 great islands and by a myriad of smaller islands, with a great surface as Italy, but with a well superior population, around 75 million people. From the independence in 1946 the state has suffered the long dictatorship of Marcos, to which a difficult democracy has succeeded, hindered by corruptions, attacks and guerrilla.
It is one of the countries to taller rate of growth of the population, with strong emigration to the foreign countries. The economic situation is difficult with elevated inflation and serious public deficit. In the islands the fishing and the agricultural activities as the rice (splendid risaie in the island of Luzon), the pineapple (extended cultivations in the island of Mindanao) and then bananas, coconut palm, coffee and cocoa are very developed.
