African archipelago on the Atlantic ocean in front of Senegal. It is constituted by 10 islands, one of these is uninhabited (Saint Luzia), separated to north by the Barlavento (Saint Antao, Sao Vincente, Saint Luzia, Sao Nicolau, Sal and Boa it Approves) and to south by the Sotavento (Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Good). The widest island is Santiago (almost 1000 Kmqs) where the capital Praia is found; the tallest island is Fogo, that culminates in a volcano of 2.829 meters on the sea; the most beautiful island is Saint Antao, it is a morphological masterpiece of crests and valleys deeply engraved: the most fascinating place is Mindelo on the island of Sao Vincente. It has a population of few more than 400.000 inhabitants, devoted to the agriculture (sugar reed, coffee and bananas), to the fishing and to the inherent activities the tourism.
