It's a small Caucasian nation, that as others generated by the dismemberment of the ex Soviet Union, had suffers from poverty, decay and banditry.
Nowadays is a well cultivated country with a lot of pastures and orchards.
Territory is mainly mountainous characterized of wide plateau where is placed Lake Sevan.
The country is full of old Christian monasteries of armen Church, especially the amazing Hagpat e Sanahin in the gorge of Debed, Sevanavank near Lake Sevan, Khor Virap at base of Mount Ararat and finally Armenian Vatican at Echmiadzin.
