It's an absolute monarchy, without any process of democratization, with rigid Koranic law.
The sovereign is also the custodian of the holy mosques of Medina and La Mecca.
It's a desert and rich of oil country, that to a large extent it is mysterious and extremely closed. The Koranic law foresees the death penalty for a big number of crimes (according to some sources there are over 100 executions a year).
The charm of the desert, of the Arabic customs and of the holy city of La Mecca wish an opening of the frontiers and to the democracy, that however it is far to arrive.
