The state is constituted by two islands, the big Sao Tomè (836 Kmq) and the most little ones Principe, besides from a few rocky islets, in the Atlantic Ocean far from the seashore of Gabon. The islands are of volcanic origin and they culminate in the Pico de Sao Tomè (mt 2024 msl) and in the Pico do Papagaio to Prince (mt 927 msl). The islands are little visited, but very beautiful, thanks to the equatorial flourishing vegetation, to the rich plantations of cocoa and coffee, to the streams that get down from the volcanic slopes (waterfall of Sao Nicolau), to the basaltic morros and to the beautiful beaches hemmed of palms, first among everything Praia das Sete Ondas.
